About us  >  Community Partnerships

We have mutual referral relationships with an even broader network of service providers in San Francisco.

In 2009, Larkin Street launched two additional partnerships. First we took over fiscal sponsorship of 3rd Street Youth Center and Clinic in Bayview Hunters Point to offer the grassroots organization administrative stability and help extend our reach to this under-served community. Second, we began work with several of our longstanding partners, including Huckleberry Youth Programs and Community Health Programs for Youth, to launch a Multi-Service Youth Center for At-Risk youth in San Francisco’s Haight Ashbury neighborhood.

Larkin Street is considered an expert on the needs of homeless youth, and our staff members serve on a number of local, statewide, and national boards and planning bodies, including:

  • TAY San Francisco
  • Local Homeless Coordinating Board
  • HIV Prevention Planning Council
  • San Francisco Human Services Network
  • California Coalition for Youth
  • National Alliance to End Homelessness

Community Partnerships

Larkin Street is a recognized and respected member of San Francisco’s community of service providers for youth, and we have both formal and informal partnerships with a wide range of other service providers to ensure that we share resources and avoid the duplication of efforts.

One of Larkin Street’s longest standing partnerships is with the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s Community Health Programs for Youth (CHPY). Our partnership with CHPY includes our two onsite health clinics, providing homeless and at-risk youth with free, comprehensive primary medical care and HIV specialty care. We also work with CHPY to provide confidential HIV testing at locations throughout the city.

Larkin Street leads two citywide collaborations focused on identifying and linking HIV+ homeless youth with housing and treatment and providing early intervention for homeless youth with substance abuse issues.

Larkin Street’s community-based partners include:

  • Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center
  • Bayview Hunters Point Foundation
  • Bay Area Young Positives
  • Black Coalition on AIDS
  • California Prevention and Education Project
  • Edgewood Center
  • Homeless Youth Alliance
  • Horizons Unlimited
  • Huckleberry Youth Programs
  • University of California – San Francisco.
