Working for Larkin Street Youth Services

Larkin Street Youth Services’ mission is to take care of youth, but we're also committed to taking care of our employees.  Our 115 employees carry out LSYS’s “client-first” philosophy.  They are diverse in terms of their backgrounds and their skill-sets.  Our organizational culture encourages them to achieve great things in their professions, and we emphasize the importance of ongoing professional development.

Because our employees give so much to our kids we want to give our employees the best possible working experience at LSYS.  All positions are full-time and include a range of benefits—medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, life insurance, and employee assistance plan.  There are 12 yearly paid agency holidays, and employees accrue three weeks of vacation in their first year with the agency.

The people who work at LSYS enjoy these benefits of employment with the premier social service provider for homeless and runaway kids.  If you asked them, they would certainly point to our excellent working environment and provision of benefits as important reasons for their employment with us.  But ultimately, they are driven by the desire to take part in the most important aspect of LSYS’s work: our mission of inspiring youth to move beyond the streets.
