Diana
Diana is a young woman who was shuttled back and forth among countless foster
care and group homes before she landed at Larkin Street’s emergency shelter
for older youth, the Lark-Inn. With the support of Larkin Street’s HIRE
UP program, Diana completed her preparations for the GED test, passed all
five component tests, and then decided to take the next step and pursue her
high school diploma. After graduating with her diploma in the summer of 2005,
Diana enrolled in the Institute for HIRE Learning’s multimedia
track where she is pursuing her ambitions to become a graphic designer. Today,
she resides at Avenues to Independence and is completing a paid internship
at Pacific News Service.
